Spurs aim for 10 in a row vs. Wolves
Preview: The 47-13 Spurs — second-best in the NBA to only Golden State's 50-11 record — have won six consecutive games and 11 of their past 13 after Friday's 101-98 overtime victory at New Orleans. They have won four consecutive games at home after edging Indiana 100-99 on Wednesday and are 20-6 there overall. … They will have a winning season for the 20th consecutive year, an NBA record one better than Utah's 19 consecutive from 1985 to 2004. ... The Spurs have won the past nine games between the teams, including this season's first two meetings 105-91 at Target Center in early December and 122-114 in San Antonio in mid-January. They are 9-1 on the second night of back-to-back games and have won their past eight.
Players to watch: The Spurs' latest superstar, forward Kawhi Leonard, has a .778 winning percentage as a pro, the best in NBA history. He led his team in scoring 41 of its first 54 games and scored at least 20 points in all of those. He also has scored 30 or more 20 times this season before Friday's game at New Orleans. … Spurs point guard Tony Parker is the fastest player in NBA history to win 800 games in his career. He did so in his first 1,099 games.
Injuries: Wolves F Adreian Payne is out indefinitely while he is being treated for thrombocytopenia. The Spurs reported no injuries before Friday's game.
