Roseville Police identified Jay R. Barron as the man who died Saturday after being assaulted earlier in the week.
Police said the circumstances around Barron's injuries are unknown and are under investigation. Police have not officially ruled the case a homicide, calling it instead a suspicious death.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office has tentatively ruled the death a homicide, but authorities have not issued an official autopsy report.
Police were called to United Hospital in St. Paul about 6 a.m. Saturday on a report that Barron, a Roseville resident, had died during treatment at the hospital.
Barron arrived earlier that morning vomiting and suffering from seizures, according to a police news release. He apparently died from injuries allegedly sustained in an unreported assault earlier in the week, police said.
