Park Center again: Ann Simonet's two three-pointers lifted the Pirates to a second consecutive Class 3A basketball state title. The Pirates beat Marshall 52-45 in a rematch of the 2014 final.

Six-for-six: Park Center senior Amani Hooker had perhaps the state's most special football performance: three TD catches, two TD runs and an interception for a TD in a playoff win at Cooper.

Adapted champs: North suburban teams ruled the adapted soccer state title games. Anoka-Hennepin (physically impaired division) and Park Center (cognitively impaired) each earned championships.

Volleyball honor: Champlin Park junior Sydney Hilley earned Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year honors and led the Rebels to third place at the Class 3A state tournament.

Raiders rule: Roseville, with four excellent beam routines in a row, pulled away to win the Class 2A state gymnastics team championship for the fourth consecutive year with a score of 150.05.
