RANKING PLAYOFF MOMENTUM
AFC
1. New England 16-0
Streaking: Won 16.
• To take everyone's best shot and still not fall was unthinkable until this season.
2. San Diego 11-5
Streaking: Won six.
• Remember when the Chargers were 1-3 and we all said adios to Norv Turner?
3. Indianapolis 13-3
Streaking: Lost one, but also has won six of past seven.
• The Colts coasted in Sunday's loss, but Peyton Manning looked sharp during his brief tuneup.
4. Jacksonville 11-5
Streaking: Lost one, but also has won three of four, including a victory at Pittsburgh.
• The Jags are a physical team that could benefit from resting starters in Sunday's loss to Houston.
5. Tennessee 10-6
Streaking: Won three, and four of the past five.
• An earlier three-game losing streak and unimpressive victories over the Chiefs and Jets are worrisome.
6. Pittsburgh 10-6
Streaking: Lost one, three of the past four, and four of the past seven.
• Mike Tomlin said, "Ready or not, here we come." Well, the Steelers just don't seem ready.
NFC
1. Washington 9-7
Streaking: Won four.
• The only NFC team with a head of steam heading into the playoffs.
2. New York Giants 10-6
Streaking: Lost one, and two of the past three.
• They're No. 2 because of their road record and how well they played Saturday against the Patriots.
3. Green Bay 13-3
Streaking: Won one, and three of the past four.
• The Packers get No. 3 by default. The 35-7 loss at Chicago two weeks ago is cause for concern.
4. Dallas 13-3
Streaking: Lost one, and two of the past three.
• And if not for a late rally at Detroit, the Cowboys would have lost three of their past four.
5. Seattle 10-6
Streaking: Lost one, and two of the past three.
• The Seahawks just gave up 44 points to Atlanta. That's a concern under any circumstances.
6. Tampa Bay 9-7
Streaking: Lost two, and three of the past four.
• And here comes a Giants team that has won seven consecutive games away from Giants Stadium.
