How much do viewers want to ease on down the road with a second-tier musical? NBC will gauge viewer interest in a production featuring mostly unfamiliar tunes in the heavily hyped three-hour "The Wiz Live!" The presence of Queen Latifah and Ne-Yo will help, but those stars aren't anywhere near the level of Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, who starred in the 1978 film. 7 p.m. KARE, Ch. 11

Book worms

The testosterone level hits the top of the charts in "Best Seller," the 1987 film in which James Woods and Brian Dennehy compete to see who has the bigger pen. The fast-paced thriller got lost in a decade favoring more cartoonish action flicks, but the two-hander is definitely worth rediscovering. 7 p.m. THIS, Ch. 5.6

A twangy little Christmas
