A $1.1 billion bonding bill that promised to create at least 21,000 jobs for the state's sluggish economy handily won approval in Minnesota's DFL-controlled House late Monday, setting up a likely showdown with Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who objects to its size and what he called its misplaced priorities.

The House vote was 92 to 37, with several Republicans joining the DFL majority.

House DFLers boosted the pricetag of the bill Monday, voting to include money for an $89 million expansion of a sex offender treatment facility in Moose Lake, a project that Pawlenty has advocated.
