Wyn Starks, the Minneapolis-raised singer who dedicated his "America's Got Talent" run to his late twin brother, was the first candidate eliminated Wednesday on the show's results show.

Starks failed to generate enough audience votes Tuesday with his touching cover of "In The Stars" by Benson Boone.

His turn in the spotlight followed a short video in which Starks talked about how he lost his sibling in November 2020 and how he hoped a victory will help him take care of his nephews.

Judge Simon Cowell said he was impressed with how the singer managed to keep it together for the live performance.

"You're a very, very, very, brave man," he said.

But Cowell's praise wasn't enough. Only magician Yu Hojin and country group Chapel Hart were selected to move on.

All is not lost for Starks. Voters will able to select a wild card candidate in later episodes.

Another round of live performances airs at 7 p.m. Tuesday on KARE, Ch. 11.
