A man working on a boat fell into Leech Lake and drowned, authorities in northern Minnesota said Monday.
The incident occurred midafternoon Friday on the north end of Sucker Bay, the Cass County Sheriff's Office said.
According to the Sheriff's Office:
Two men had been in a boat off the landing, where a 68-year-old man from Pierz, Minn., fell in while tending to the vessel's drain plug.
The person with him jumped into the water and brought the man and the boat to shore. The man died at the scene. His identity has yet to be released.
