LOUISVILLE, KY. – The St. Paul Saints managed just three hits in a 6-1 loss to the Louisville Bats on Sunday at Louisville Slugger Field.

The loss drops the Saints to 15-15; they went 8-4 on the 12-game road trip that concluded Sunday. The trip included six games at Iowa and six at Louisville.

The Saints took a 1-0 lead in the third when Keon Broxton led off with a single to left, stole second and scored on a two-out single by Tomas Telis.

With two outs in the bottom of the third, Alejo Lopez walked and Aristedes Aquino drilled a two-run homer to left, his first homer during his rehab assignment, to put the Bats up 2-1.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Bats scored three runs without a hit to increase their lead to 5-1. The Bats took advantage of six walks and a wild pitch.

The Bats scored their final run on a solo home run by T.J. Friedl.

Matt Mullenbach, who joined the Saints on Saturday after the Twins signed him Friday from the Independent Frontier League, saw his first action at Class AAA. He pitched two shutout innings of relief.

The Saints are off on Monday and begin a six-game series at CHS Field against the Omaha Storm Chasers on Tuesday.
