What a beautiful sight it was to see the many transportation modes in action after the Twins game Monday: standing-room-only buses, packed Hiawatha light-rail and Northstar commuter- rail cars, a busy "sane lane" and a downtown full of pedestrians, bicycles and even skateboards. And rush-hour traffic was tolerable! Regardless of the success of the new stadium, the success of the transportation planning is laudable. PENNY VAN KAMPEN, EDINA
