A juvenile drowned Wednesday afternoon at Buffalo River State Park in Clay County, authorities said.
The victim was seen in the park's swimming area, which is staffed by lifeguards. The person was pulled from the water shortly after 4 p.m., but lifesaving measures by several agencies were not successful, the Sheriff's Office said.
The victim's name has not been released. The incident is under investigation.
