Leon Hushcha, left, and Vladimir von Tsurikov, right, at the Museum of Russian Art, Friday, June 3, 2016 in Minneapolis, MN. Born in a displaced persons camp in Austria shortly after WWII, Minneapolis painter Leon Hushcha knew little of his Ukrainian past as a child. Over the years, however, he's explored it through travel and community though rarely if ever in his colorful Picasso-inspired modernist paintings. A selection of his art will be featured in a week-long "pop up" show at the Museum of Russian Art.
