GOPHERS GAMEDAY

Noon at Wisconsin • Kohl Center • Big Ten Network, 100.3 FM

Preview: The Gophers (11-6, 2-6 Big Ten) not being at full strength has made it difficult to build momentum in league play, shown again in Thursday's 75-64 loss against Ohio State at home. A tough stretch continues with Minnesota playing three of the next four games on the road while also hosting Purdue. Wisconsin (16-3, 7-2) has been a model of consistency with eight wins in the past nine games, including 73-65 at Nebraska on Thursday. The Badgers already have four road wins in conference games, one away from their season total in 2020-21. The Gophers, who lost 71-59 at Wisconsin last season, have only two wins (2009 and 2019) in Madison since 1994.

Players to watch: Sophomore Jamison Battle returned after missing a game because of illness to lead the Gophers with 15 points and six rebounds Thursday against the Buckeyes, but he shot 5-for-18 in 40 minutes. Senior Eric Curry is a game-time decision to play Sunday after missing the past three games because of an ankle injury. Wisconsin sophomore Johnny Davis (21.7) dropped from the Big Ten scoring lead to the No. 2 spot behind Iowa's Keegan Murry after his 13 points on 5-for-12 shooting against Nebraska.

Numbers: The Gophers were outrebounded 48-22 against Ohio State on Thursday, which included 20-6 on the offensive glass. It was the most offensive rebounds for an opponent since Iowa had 27 on Dec. 25 last season.
