The Gophers have played 13 first-round WCHA playoff series at home and have won every one. Advancing each time to the Final Five. But there was one series, in which they lost a game. Hmm. Can't remember? Think of this weekend's opponent, Alaska Anchorage. The Seawolves forced a third game in a first-round series in 2007. They beat the Gophers 2-1 in overtime on March 10 that year. Now UAA is coming back, hoping to win two games this weekend. The Gophers' all-time first round playoffs record at Mariucci Arena is 26-1. But the Seawolves are familiar with Minneapolis. They were here for a week in late Jan. before splitting a series with the Gophers. Minnesota won the first game 5-1, the Seawolves won the second game 1-0. FIRST-ROUND TICKETS Ticket packages for the first round WCHA playoff series between the Gophers and Alaska Anchorage this weekend at Mariucci Arena will go on sale at noon Monday. The best-of-three series starts at 7 p.m. Friday and tickets for all games cost $63. If a third game is not necessary, the cost of that ticket will be refunded.
