If you want to know what the latest technological fads are, follow the Twins.

When the Sony PSP hit the market a few years ago, several players pounced on them right away. Picture Johan Santana and Joe Nathan playing soccer before games, screaming "goooooalllllll" at one another.

When the first-generation iPhones hit the market, Justin Morneau was one of the first to get one, which set off a wave of jealously in the clubhouse. Within a couple of weeks, most of the players had one.

Now several players have embraced the iPad, including Danny Valencia.

Valencia uses his iPad various ways, but this year he will be able to call up video of all his at-bats and study them. He's a positive-reinforcement guy, so he won't spend much time looking at the at-bats on which his mechanics were flawed -- not suggesting there's many of those. Other stuff in his backpack:

A MacBook: His preferred laptop has all the power he wants.

iPhone: Valencia has embraced "app" world. It's also the device he uses to jam to his favorite tunes.

Beats by Dr. Dre: To listen to those tunes, Valencia uses high-performance headphones pitched by the rap music icon.
