Game recap
Offensive MVP
Trevone Boykin, TCU
We can't say he looked like a potential Heisman Trophy winner, but he got the job done, and looked excellent at times. He had 338 total yards and scored a touchdown running and throwing. He missed the mark more than once, but several times, especially when he was under pressure, he came through.
Defensive MVP
Eric Murray, Gophers
The senior Gophers defensive back had a forced fumble and an interception. He led the secondary, a group that kept Minnesota hanging tough in a first half that was otherwise miserable. Murray and his secondary mates were as good as advertised.
