Boiling Point

If you aren't lucky enough to have air conditioning, this time of year can be a tad overwhelming. Add to that the ills of today's world, and we have reached a "Boiling Point," a new evening of dance, performance and experimental vocal work curated by Fire Drill's Emily Gastineau and Billy Mullaney. With New York-based performance artist Lorene Bouboushian's lament of epic proportions and Chicago-based performance and noise artist Jill Flanagan's destruction of transphobia and misogyny via soft-shoe and hysteria, the show promises extremes. Choreographic collaboration Hijack (Arwen Wilder and Kristin Van Loon) also has a new piece, "Yet Another Aftermath," along with new work by local artists Lazer Vortex and Pedro Pablo Lander. (8 p.m. Sat., Fresh Oysters Performance Research, 512 E. 24th St., Mpls., $10-15, fire-drill.org)
