Billed as a premium compact, the front-drive Suzuki Forenza features European styling and a host of class-leading features typically reserved for upscale luxury cars.

Power for the Forenza wagon is generated by a 2.0L DOHC four-cylinder engine bolted to a five-speed manual gearbox. A four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission is an available option.

Standard equipment for the well-equipped Forenza: AM/FM/CD cassette audio system with eight speakers, steering wheel integrated audio controls, four-wheel disc brakes, power windows, power door locks, heated exterior mirrors, air conditioning with micron-air filtration, rear heating ducts, remote fuel filler door release, additional 12-volt power outlet, tachometer, intermittent wipers, digital clock floor mats, timed rear window defroster, driver/passenger sun visors with vanity mirrors and tilt steering wheel.

On the road, the Forenza, coupled with the optional automatic transmission, delivers a solid performance. Peppy, comfortable and smooth at speed, the wagon is a dependable runner for the daily drive. Speed sensitive steering works in concert with traditional suspension hardware to keep the vehicle under control and predictable at all times.

The Suzuki wagon is equipped with MacPherson struts up front with a dual-link system in the rear. Gas-pressurized shocks hold down the four corners while front and rear stabilizer bars fine-tune the Forenza's handling balance.

Inside the cabin, displays are clear and easy to read. The driver's seat features manual lumbar support and adjustable seatback and seat height. Audio and climate controls and switches are conveniently located in the center stack for ease of use. Controls and switches for the power outside mirrors, power door locks and windows are located on the driver's side door. Remote releases for the trunk and fuel filler door are on the floor at the front left of the driver's seat.

The rear seating area features a center armrest with built-in cupholders and 60/40 split fold down seatbacks. Two adults can travel in decent comfort. The wagon's wide rear hatch makes loading simple, while tie down points make it easy to secure loose items.
