CHERYL REEVE

Everything Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve does, she does with passion. She's a coach who refuses to hide her emotions on the sideline, an outspoken supporter of women's sports, an advocate for social issues.

She appears tireless, always willing to give of her time to promote her team and her sport.

So, for the next month, the Philadelphia-area native is looking forward to a little down time.

Oh, she'll still be coaching, but as an assistant to University of Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma on Team USA, a role Reeve enjoys.

"It's easier to be an assistant," she said. "I was reminded when we went to the world championships [in 2014] how easy it is."

Reeve is thrilled to get the chance to get closer to the players, particularly the four Lynx players on the team.

"I love the relationships you build," she said. "You get to drill down into the relationships with the players more as an assistant. You get closer to them."

Not that she will be forgetting her Lynx duties. Reeve plans on keeping tabs while in Mexico.

"I'll be checking in," she said. "I'll still know what's going on."
