With the St. Paul Saints drawing up plans for a new home in Lowertown — which, no doubt, will be just as high on the "wow!" factor as the other newfangled sports venues that have popped up around town — time is running out to enjoy the decidedly anti-chic aura of their current home. Yes, Midway Stadium lacks the accouterments of its slick, modern-day counterparts, but that's a big part of its charm. Trains rumble by as foul balls carry over the stands and out into the parking lot (where, by the way, tailgating is encouraged). The bench seating is as basic at it gets, but it's also so close to the field that you almost can feel the crack of the bat. And you can take the family to the concession stand without having to apply for a second mortgage. 1771 Energy Park Dr., St. Paul; 651-644-6659; saintsbaseball.com
