Thousands of Twin Cities residents drive over or along the Mississippi every day, but few ever get on the Mississippi River. They're missing a treat. The view from a canoe offers an entirely different perspective of our cityscapes and river bluffs. Whether paddling from Anoka to the Twin Cities or from Fort Snelling to Hastings, this is an urban adventure with bald eagles and barges, skyscrapers and sunfish, muskrats and mallards. Use caution: Wakes from motorboats and barges are possible, and snags, sweepers and boulders present hazards.
