The Snake River is rich in American Indian, fur trade and logging history — though today it's simply a wonderful ribbon of water to paddle and camp. Heavily forested riverbanks, granite outcrops and sandstone bluffs all entice visitors. There is some white water, and water levels vary, so check ahead. Expect to see wildlife with plenty of opportunity to catch walleye, northerns, smallmouth bass and catfish. 1-218-485-5410.
