Westminster Presbyterian Church in downtown Minneapolis was the backdrop for the Northern Lights Gala sponsored by the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery. The evening, a celebration of the Minneapolis museum's first anniversary, included a rousing mix of music, singing and dancing. The museum was created to preserve and display the experiences and contributions of African-Americans in Minnesota. Funds raised at the event will go toward its history, art and education programs.
