After the University of Minnesota dance team went viral on social media with last weekend's jazz routine set to the 1973 Aerosmith hit "Dream On" at a national competition in Orlando, the rock band posted a compilation of TikToks of the routine.

"WOW!!! Thank you so much, we are SO honored," the dance team posted on its account.

Minnesotans and rock stars alike are still sharing the routine more than a week later, showing how much this energetic routine blew people's minds.

The Universal Dance Association (UDA) also praised the team for getting the recognition of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band.

"Seeing the University of Minnesota getting this type of recognition is the cherry on top of the amazing weekend we had at UDA College Nationals," Jessica Pettitt, brand manager for UDA under Varsity Spirit, said in an email.

Dance team head coach Amanda Gaines also reposted the video, saying, "Truly losing my mind over here. Hey Aerosmith, thanks for making such an iconic song that was a dream to dance to."

Gaines was happy to see that the post was such an in-depth look at the team's performance.

"That compilation of so many videos was so cool to see," she said.

The popularity of the routine on social media is a big boost for the team, after years of feeling a bit neglected in the sports world.

The team came home from Florida with a first place for its pom routine. Its viral jazz routine earned second place behind Ohio State, whose performance was set to Frank Sinatra's "My Way" and also popular on social media.
