This solo show is a funny and engrossing look at the experiences of Doris Rubenstein, a Jewish woman from Richfield dedicated to jarring the best kosher pickles in the North. But her efforts are thwarted by judges at the Minnesota State Fair, who think her cloudy brine violates health codes. What is the Jewish community to do? Doris has it down. Based on a true story — the real Doris sits in the audience — the show talks prejudice without being preachy, and the comedic dialogue is impressively colorful. Actress Angela Timberman positively shines in her one-hour monologue, never slowing for a minute. (5:30 p.m. Sun. & Wed., 7 p.m. Sat. Aug. 12, 1 p.m. Sun. Aug. 13, Ritz Theater Studio, 345 13th Av. NE., Mpls.)
