The Timberwolves this morning recalled rookie center Justin Patton from their Iowa team in the G League.

They're also bringing back two-way contract players Amile Jefferson and Anthony Brown during a break in the G League schedule. All three were headed back from a game in Texas last night for Wolves' practice today, but a travel disruption kept them from arriving in time.

They're expected later this afternoon.

Patton is coming back to have his healing foot examined and he and his two Iowa teammates will be here for games Tuesday against Houston and Thursday against the Lakers. Don't expect any of the three to play.

Patton played 25 games for Iowa on his road back from foot surgery last summer.

He averaged 11.9 points on 51.5 percent shooting, five rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 20.1 minutes a game.

He hasn't yet been taken off a minutes restriction yet.

"That will be the final step," Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau said. "He's close, though. Everything is pointing in the right direction. We just want to make sure."

The Iowa team has a 10-day break in the schedule after last night's game in Austin, Tex.

Asked if he expects any of those three players to be able to help here in the NBA, Thibodeau said, "We'll see. The big thing with Justin is the health part of it. Because he missed so much time, it's better for him develop playing down there. I think he's got a lot out of it and because we have the affiliation now, we can monitor him pretty closely."
