PI DIVISION

Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka 13, St. Paul Humboldt 1: The Robins had a very balanced scoring attack with four players scoring at least two goals in the quarterfinals of the PI division of the adapted floor hockey state tournament. Chaun Johnson led the way with three goals, Cory Tesch had two goals and two assists. Andy Hanson and Casey Balint also had two goals. Christian Finn had the lone goal for the Hawks. The Robins are going for their sixth consecutive state championship.

Dakota United 12, Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville 3: Grayson Nicolay scored three goals and had three assists to lead the Hawks past the Rams. Riley Wisniewski and Kyra Patterson both scored twice. Goalie Jonathan Lyons earned the win for Dakota United. Grant Drew scored twice for the Rams, and Mark Lippert had one goal. The Hawks last won the state title 10 years ago.

Brainerd/Pillager 4, Rochester 3 (OT): The second- and third-seeded teams required overtime to decide this quarterfinal matchup. The extra period was decided quickly when the Warriors' Jake Heikkenen scored 22 seconds into overtime, his second goal of the game. Antonio Rosas scored twice for the Raiders. Zachary Denny earned the win with 30 saves.

Anoka-Hennepin 11, Maple Grove 3: Freshman Stevey France scored five goals to lead last year's runner-up into the state semifinals. Joey Manion added a hat trick for the Mustangs. Abby Witters led the Crimson offense with a hat trick.

CI DIVISION

North Suburban 10, Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville 2: Sophomore Josh Hamann finished with six goals and two assists for the Cougars, and Jonathan Caliendo stopped 14 shots in goal for North Suburban. Anthony Bengston scored a hat trick for the Cougars. Matt Luetkemeyer and senior Taylor McKinnon scored one goal each for Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville. North Suburban finished second in 2015.

Owatonna 11, Dakota United 8: The Huskies knocked off the defending state champions in a close contest. The Hawks were up 8-7 with four minutes remaining, but Owatonna scored four unanswered goals, including two in nine seconds.

Alex Burns had six goals and an assist. Zach Spenser added a hat trick and two assists. Nolan Engebretson made 18 saves for Owatonna. Blake St. Mane and Keegan Murphy both scored hat tricks for the Hawks.

Anoka-Hennepin 7, Wayzata/Minnetonka 1: Cole Denny had five goals to lead the Mustangs. Anthony Geebli added a goal and two assists and Brandon Flasch had a goal and an assist for Anoka-Hennepin. Nick Desautels scored the lone goal for the Lakers.

St. Cloud 13, South Washington 4: Brian Jones had a double hat trick and added three assists to lead the Slapshots past the Thunderbolts. Tyrell Franck-Cross scored four goals for St. Cloud. Nicholas Jones led South Washington with two goals.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Maranatha 67, Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 64: The Mustangs trailed by four at halftime but started the second half on a 14-0 run to take the Class A Section 4 title. This will be Maranatha's seventh consecutive trip to the state tournament.

Minnehaha Academy 69, St. Croix Lutheran 47: The Redhawks shut down the Crusaders in the first half, outscoring them 44-16. Sarah Kaminski scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Minnehaha, the top seed in the Class 2A, Section 4 bracket. The Redhawks are headed to the state tournament for the eighth time in the past nine seasons.
