Rep. Yvonne Selcer said Friday she would not seek re-election this fall.

The DFLer from Minnetonka said she wants the legislature to work together for the rest of this session on strong capital investment and transportation bills, along with continuing efforts to close the achievement gap and expand opportunities for Minnesota students.

"There is more to do, and for the rest of this session I look forward to working on behalf of my constituents," Selcer said in a statement.

She cited a long list of projects and legislation she had supported, including all-day kindergarten, the expansion of early childhood education, assistance to make college more affordable, help for graduates facing high student debt, and creating a state solar energy standard.
