Authorities in Blaine have arrested a suspect in the shooting in a Walmart parking lot early Monday that left one man injured.

Police and paramedics were called to the store at 11505 NE. Ulysses St. about 5:15 a.m. in response to a shooting, according to a dispatcher with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

When they arrived, they found a man in his 30s with injuries to his ear and the top of his head, said Capt. Mark Boerboom of the Blaine Police Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, Boerboom said.

The parking lot was taped off as authorities investigated. Detectives located two spent casings near where the incident occurred, he said.

Police are interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video to determine what had occurred. Police believe the victim and the shooter knew each other, Boerboom said.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody about 3 hours after the incident.
