Dancers in the dark
Dance becomes a different experience entirely in the dark. BodyCartography Project's "felt room" invites viewers to experience dance through senses other than sight. Director Olive Bieringa has devised a performance space where audiences can arrive and depart as they wish, moving in and out of darkness, guided by Mike Wangen's lighting design and Justin Jones' soundscape. The result is a meditation on dreaming, imagining and the very experience of being human. After a presentation at Carleton College last winter, BodyCartography brings this experimental piece to its hometown for two nights. (7-10 p.m. Thu. & Fri., White Page Gallery, 3400 Cedar Av.
