The Minnesota State High School League has called a special meeting at 8 a.m. Wednesday to address weather concerns.

With schools across the state facing a second week of postponed baseball and softball games because of cold and snow-covered fields, the league's board members are expected to vote on a temporary rule change dealing with game lengths. Likely outcomes include more doubleheaders and games with fewer innings.

While spring sports face weather-related challenges every year, the league hasn't had to consider these types of measures since 2013.
