The recent CDC study focused on sexually transmitted infections in young women, but health officials say that tells only half of the story. It's time, they say, to focus on young men.

• High school males are likelier than high school females to have sex, 49 vs. 43 percent. • High school males are likelier than girls to have had four or more sexual partners, 17 vs. 11 percent. • 55 percent of males ages 15 to 19 say they either have received or given oral sex. • Condom use was highest among 10th-grade boys (69 percent) and lowest among 12th-grade boys (60 percent). • Boys ages 12 to 19 are slightly likelier than girls the same age to report feeling pressured to have sex (82 vs. 79 percent).
