Sample usage: At the end of the choir recital, the applause died out swiftly, but no one was really surprised that the afterclaps came from the parents of the little girl whose boisterous shrieking had drowned out all her classmates.
Popularity: It's useful for describing a slightly embarrassing action you would never be caught taking but don't mind pointing out if someone else does it. It probably won't have an antonym because "preclapping" would just be, well, clapping.
Chance of catching on: It has potential.
