DARLINGTON, Wis. — A nine-year-old boy is dead after an accident with a utility terrain vehicle on a farm in southwestern Wisconsin.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office identified the boy Sunday as Drew Holland of the village of Gratiot. Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of an accident just before 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

The Sheriff's Office says an investigation found four people were riding the UTV on private property when they struck a pile of hay in a field which caused the small vehicle to overturn.

The boy was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital in Monroe where he was pronounced dead.

The accident is still under investigation.
