About The Seahawks
• Seattle (7-5) demolished the 49ers 43-16 last Sunday for its third consecutive victory. Quarterback Russell Wilson threw four touchdown passes on only 11 completions.
• The Seahawks have the NFL's No. 1-ranked rushing attack, led by second-year back Chris Carson, who has 704 rushing yards and four touchdowns. They do it by volume. No offense runs more than the Seahawks' 31.7 carries per game.
• Receiver Tyler Lockett has become one of the NFL's top big-play threats. His nine touchdown catches are tied for fifth among all receivers, while catching five passes of 40-plus yards; only Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown and Kansas City's Tyreek Hill have more catches of at least 40 yards.
• Linebacker Bobby Wagner is the Seahawks' playmaker on defense. Wagner leads Seattle in tackles and pass deflections. He's added two forced fumbles, an interception and a sack.
Player To Watch QB Russell Wilson
• Wilson is on pace for a career-high 38 touchdown passes while throwing only five interceptions this season. Wilson's 115.5 quarterback rating is on pace to be the best of his seven-year NFL career.
• Wilson's Seahawks fare especially well on Monday night (6-2 record) and against the Vikings (4-0). His 142.0 passer rating in the regular season against Minnesota is his best vs. any opponent he's faced more than once.
• Vikings coach Mike Zimmer on crafting a plan to sack Wilson: "I think you have to mix it up on him. They have some movement passes where they get out of the pocket. Then they have some scrambles, and they have some normal play-action dropbacks."
• Quarterback Kirk Cousins (Michigan State) on facing Wilson (Wisconsin) in the Big Ten and NFL: "They were all great games, in big part because of what he can do as a quarterback. Certainly, two in college that were two of my more memorable games I've played in. Hopefully it can be another exciting one."
Coach Speak Pete Carroll
• Pete Carroll is in his ninth season as Seahawks head coach with an 86-53-1 record in the regular season and 9-5 in the playoffs. Carroll's second NFL coaching stop was in Minnesota, where he was Vikings defensive backs coach from 1985 to 1989.
• Carroll, a former Jets and 49ers defensive coordinator, has presided over six top-10 defenses in Seattle since he was hired in 2010. The Seahawks are tied for ninth in points allowed per game this season (21.6).
• On regaining home-field advantage in Seattle, where his team is 4-2 this season: "Doing a nice job of taking care of the ball and taking it from our opponents. That's something that's been characteristic of our play at home for years and years. Last week was true to form. When we're able to do that, it allows us to capture the momentum of the home crowd."
• On losing 17-14 last season to Washington after a game-winning drive by Cousins: "He hit a bomb on us, made a great throw and great catch. It was one big play is really what happened."
