A Brooklyn Park nail salon with a history of poor sanitation practices and failed inspections was fined $5,000 and told to correct problems, according to a recent order by the Minnesota Board of Cosmetologist Examiners. Prompted by a complaint to the board, an inspection last year found that TNT Nails of Brooklyn Park Inc. was reusing porous materials and improperly storing tools. TNT was told to train employees in how to clean and disinfect tools and pedicure stations, post those procedures in the salon and submit a progress report to the board that includes the name of their disinfectant and how it's mixed. The salon was cited twice in 2009 for sanitation violations. For the second occurrence, it paid a $5,000 fine in May 2010. Click here to read the recent order. Click here to read the May 2010 order.
