Minnesota United FC midfielder Jeb Brovsky has a torn ACL in his left knee and will be out for the rest of the season.

Brovsky was injured in the Loons' Oct. 22 game in Carolina. He is expected to undergo surgery soon.

His loss comes as United prepares for a must-win game against the New York Cosmos on Saturday at the National Sports Center Stadium in Blaine. Minnesota needs a win and a Rayo OKC loss Sunday to clinch the fourth and final NASL playoff spot.

Brovsky, who played for NYC FC of Major League Soccer last season, had started every match he played in this season for United. He tallied 2,174 minutes in 26 appearances while completing 86.1 percent of his passes. He filled in at right back when Kevin Venegas got hurt and drew rave reviews from Loons coach Carl Craig for solid defensive play.
