It's looking more and more like the Twins will leave here without making a significant move.

They have been in contact with clubs during the winter meetings to see if they can match up on trades in the future. I just don't think Derek Falvey and Thad Levine came here with making a bunch of moves on their agenda.

They've admitted that they have used this week as a mini-organizational meeting. The Twins were unable to hold organizational meetings in October because of their executive search. This has been an opportunity for Falvey and Levine to meet many members of the organization who are usually scattered across the country. And they have admitted that most of the agents they have spoken with represent players already on their roster.

So, no, I don't see them making a big move this week.

They did re-sign righthander Yorman Landa, the pitcher they took off the roster last week to make room on their 40-man roster. Landa was 2-2 with a 3.24 ERA in 31 games last season for Class A Fort Myers.

The Twins made room on the 40-man so they could be active in the Rule 5 Draft on Thursday, the final day of the meetings. There are several talented players to choose from, and the Twins have the No. 1 pick. They could could draft a reliever with a big arm or maybe a backup catcher with upside. They also could trade the pick. Anyway, here's Baseball America's Rule 5 preview. It's worth a read.

Twins manager Paul Molitor is about to meet with the media. We'll see if he can shed any light on the Twins inactivity.
