From the "Whatever Happened To" file: Tom Arnold has some good career news to announce.

The onetime fixture of the Twin Cities comedy scene has launched his first standup tour in 20 years. He's just signed a development deal with NBC for a half-hour sitcom about a group of comedy writers; he may even star, according to the trade paper Variety.

He is set to appear in a recurring role on the FX network's outlaw motorcycle club drama "Sons of Anarchy."

But the biggest (and sketchiest) item is Arnold's announcement that the next James Cameron movie will star -- Tom Arnold. The comic told the New York Times: "All I know is, Jim Cameron's making it and Arnold [Schwarzenegger] and I are going to be in it, and it starts shooting in 14 months, the day after Arnold stops being governor of California. It's not going to be called 'True Lies II,' but it might as well be. I can live with that." True? Lie? We'll see.
