The baseball diamond was white with snow Saturday at Midway Stadium, where the St. Paul Winter Carnival sponsored a five-inning softball game between former players and friends of the St. Paul Saints and the St. Paul J.T.'s amateur team. After diving into the snow, Mike Roehl, playing for the Saints, came up with the ball and looked to first to make a throw. The event was a first for the Winter Carnival, which ends Sunday.
