Badgers bolt to big lead, hang on vs. UMD• WISCONSIN 3, MINNESOTA DULUTH 2: Justin Schultz had a goal and an assist as the Badgers built a 3-0 lead and hung on to beat the Bulldogs on Saturday night in Duluth despite not having a shot on goal in the third period.

The loss, coupled with North Dakota's victory over the Gophers, knocked the Bulldogs (15-5-3, 10-4-2) out of a first-place tie in the WCHA.

Schultz scored at 6:39 of the first period, and Podge Turnbull made it 2-0 for the Badgers (15-8-3, 7-7-2) at 11:50. Craig Smith completed Wisconsin's scoring 55 seconds into the second period.

Badgers goalie Scott Gudmandson made 22 saves, keeping the Bulldogs scoreless until Joe Basaraba's goal at 18:01 of the third. Travis Oleksuk cut it to 3-2 with 25 seconds left.

DENVER 4, MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO 3 (OT): Dustin Jackson scored 21 seconds into overtime as the Pioneers overcame a 3-0 deficit to beat the Mavericks in Mankato. Chase Grant, Channing Boe and Eriah Hayes scored for the Mavericks (10-9-5, 4-9-3) before Denver (14-5-5, 10-3-2) rallied on goals by Beau Bennett, Nick Shore and Jason Zucker.

BEMIDJI STATE 3, NEBRASKA OMAHA 2 (OT): Matt Read's second goal of the game, 52 seconds into overtime, gave the visiting Beavers a victory over the Mavericks. Matt Carlson also scored for Bemidji State (9-11-2, 5-9-1). Matt Ambroz and Ryan Walters scored for UNO (12-8-2, 9-5-2).

ST. LAWRENCE 6, MICHIGAN TECH 0: Andrew Bogosian and Greg Carey scored two goals each as the Saints (7-10-4) routed the host Huskies (3-16-3).

LATE FRIDAY

ALASKA ANCHORAGE 4, COLORADO COLLEGE 1: Tommy Grant scored on a power play and short-handed in the first period as the Seawolves (6-10-3, 5-8-2) beat the Tigers (12-10-1, 8-7-0) in Anchorage.
