A new website aims to get Ramsey County residents and visitors moving and eating better by helping them find parks, markets and resources on health-related subjects.

The website -- www.goramsey.org -- was developed to promote health with the ultimate goal of decreasing health-care costs.

A searchable map is designed to help residents find parks that offer the activities they seek and it also can track the distance they walk. The site can also connect users to public transportation.

In addition to the mapping, the site has three links: Move More, Eat Smart and Feel Better.

Click on "Move More" and the site provides links to activities, where to do them and physical activity guides. "Eat Smart" directs the viewer to a page of links on managing weight and diet as well as where to shop for food. The "Feel Better" link provides access to information on numerous health-related programs, from where to drop off hazardous waste to how to apply for public assistance through WIC.
