PURSES LEAD TO FOALS

When horse racing purses rise, breeders produce more foals, because they have a greater opportunity to make money. When less purse money is offered, breeders cut back. Here are how Minnesota's thoroughbred foal numbers and Canterbury Park's thoroughbred purses have corresponded since 2000:
