Minnesota would face the loss of $35 million to $40 million dollars if it raises the speed limit on 35E in St. Paul above 45 miles per hour, said Minnesota Department of Transportation's Scott Peterson. The Senate transportation committee then voted to drop a proposed 35E speed limit increase from its general transportation bill.
