Star Tribune Outdoor writer Doug Smith hunted pheasants with friend Jack Rendulich of Duluth on Sunday in southwestern Minnesota, where winds hit 30 to 40 mph, blowing farm field debris through the air. That debris, mostly dry leaves from corn plants, drifted over roads and ditches like snow in some areas, and clung to barbed-wire fences.
