Look what's opening on Sept. 10: the North Loop outpost of Cooks of Crocus Hill.

Further cementing the neighborhood's culinary supremacy -- the Bachelor Farmer is a few doors down, Spoon and Stable is across the street and a half-dozen other top-performing restaurants are within walking distance -- the new 2,500 square-foot store will feature an edited selection of the store's best-selling items, a large assortment of imported packaged foods, daily tastings and a cooking school (with an upcoming guest chef roster that includes chefs Marcus Samuelsson and Raghavan Iyer).
"We are very excited about the creative inspirations that come from being a part of a food-centered community," said Cooks co-owner Karl Benson in a statement. "This is our smallest footprint space, but it could end up being the tail that wags the dog."
The 43-year-old cooking store and school operates locations in St. Paul, Edina and Stillwater, along with stores within Kowalski's Markets in Woodbury and White Bear Lake. The North Loop Cooks will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's located at 208 N. 1st St. in Minneapolis.
