The $900 million in spending cuts passed by the GOP-led House on Wednesday would do the following:
• Cut local government aid by $487 million over two years.
• Reduce state agency budgets by $100 million this fiscal year. Those cuts must exclude general and special education, military and veterans programs, financial aid, disaster relief, training programs or correctional facilities.
• Cut higher education funding by $185 million over two years.
