Tourand Helen Mary died June 15, 2002 at Walker Southview, Mpls. at 104 years. Helen was born March 18, 1898 in Olga, ND to Clement and Margaret Tourand. She was the firstborn of 10 children and lived in 3 centuries. After high school she was employed by Boyd's Golden Rule, a men's and women's clothing and accessories store. She later was manager of a store opened in Cavalier, ND. She continued to work for them when they were purchased by Skogmos. She finished her years with JC Penney Company and retired with them in 1963. She then moved to Mpls. to live with her brother, Mike. Helen was active in the Catholic Church all her life. She sang in the church choir and for many weddings and funerals. She took care of her parents in their golden years. She is survived by brothers, Eugene (Clarine) of New Hope, MN, and Michael of Mpls.; sisters-in-law, Joyce Tourand of St. Cloud, MN and Elizabeth Tourand of Tuscon, AZ; and nieces and nephews in Mpls., St. Cloud, Atlanta GA, Tuscon, Madison VA, and Alaska. Memorials preferred to the Alzheimers Assoc. or donor's choice. Interment Langdon, ND. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 10 am, at St. Agnes Church, 548 Lafond Ave., St. Paul.
