Russell Barbara (Barb) Louise Russell (nee Soderberg). Born May 12th, 1935, in Duluth, MN; raised in Field Township, Cook, MN; died September 30th, 2004 in Minneapolis, MN. Barbara will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 39 years, Chuck; her sons & their spouses, Charlie & Sara (Shaler), Ric & Sheila; grandchildren, Mia and Louey; sisters, Millie Gobats and Elsie Turner; many nieces, nephews and cousins, residing in the U.S. and Sweden; innumerable relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Ester & Nels Soderberg; family friend, Morrie Andersen; sisters, Laura Kmett and Bonnie Johnson; brothers, Earl and Wendell; and son, Randy. Barbara graduated from Virginia (MN) Junior College in 1955. Throughout the years, Barbara held many interesting jobs; she worked at Legal Aid, the Minneapolis Department of Court Services, the Minneapolis City Workhouse and spent several years as an executive assistant at Honeywell Corp. Barbara loved knitting, gardening, travel and watching the birds from her kitchen window; she was a lifelong avid reader. Barbara so enjoyed her time on the family farm in Cook and at the cabin on Half Moon Lake, Milltown, WI. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness & generosity, steadfast commitment to her family and the pride she took in her Swedish heri- tage. Flowers or donations to the Humane Society for Companion Animals in honor of Barbara's devoted and beloved pets.
