Margie Meadows Woodhouse

Woodhouse, Margie Meadows A Life Lived To The Fullest Just shy of her 98th birthday, Margie passed away peacefully on December 1st 2017 at home surrounded by family including the love of her life, Woody, to whom she had been married for 75 years. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she leaves behind her husband Milton "Woody" Woodhouse, her children Kirt (Nicole) Woodhouse, Dana (Doug) Austin, grandchildren Amy, Jessica, Ashley, Meredith and Robert to whom she was affectionately known as Oma, as well as six great grandchildren. She always wore a smile that would light up a room and had a twinkle in her eyes. Born December 6th, 1919, in Temple, Texas, Margie graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor College. She went on to get her MBA from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. It was here that she met a dashing Naval officer to whom she would be married in twelve months as Woody went off to war in the South Pacific. She enjoyed golfing at Hazeltine into her 80's (always walking and pulling her bag), biking with Woody and their bike club (the Tweeweilers) to places as diverse as Holland and Natchez Trace. Traveling the world was a big part of her life from the time they were married until a couple of years ago when they took their last trip to Santa Barbara. A lifelong learner, Margie was an active member of A.A.U.W. and Elderhostel, hosting more than 100 Elderhostel events in the Twin Cities. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career at Normandale Community College. As a longtime member of Wayzata community church, a service and celebration will be held in the Spring with notice to follow. Special thanks to the caregivers at Folkstone, as well as Lindy Purdy.
